Project Description
FAW is expanding its truck assembly plant the Coega Industrial Development Zone. The plant assembles a range of commercial vehicles, from light- to extra-heavy duty trucks, for Southern Africa operating conditions.
The plant was initially established as a 30 000 m² facility and forms part of FAW's regional strategy.
The upgrade programme is expanding production lines for 12 key models and enlarging the facility. The investment aims to increase production capacity from an initial 5 000 units a year to 8 000 units a year by 2028 while supporting increased local assembly and export demand.
